Nike Air Force 1 ’07 LV8 ‘Light Silver Pumice’ 2023 – Light Silver / Light Pumice / Summit White (UK9 M) [FJ4170-003] Restoration

Nike Air Force 1 ’07 LV8 ‘Light Silver Pumice’ dropped in December 2023 and proved to be a hot drop for Nike in the cooler winter season. So much so, Nike re-released them in 2024.

The Light Silver Pumice Air Force 1 comes in a muted light silver, summit white and light pumice colourway that complement a number of outfits and make a great addition to any wardrobe.

The classic AF1 stitched overlays provide durability and support that Air Force 1 enthusiasts have grown to know and love, while the addition of the nubuck suede swooshes on the two-tone leather backdrops and translucent gum soles add tone and texture to this pair.

That said, as beautiful as they once were when first taken out of the box, they were starting to show signs of wear and tear.

The soles were aging due to the nature of the translucent gum soles, which had become an orange / brown colour. Similar in appearance to a tar or tea stain, yellowing had naturally occurred over time, causing discolouration around the mid and lower soles.

After the discolouration had been removed from the mid and lower soles, the stitching around the midsoles was cleaned then whitened which brought them back to icy white.

Once the soles had been restored, stitching around the uppers, side panelling and heels were thoroughly cleaned too, taking care not to damage the nubuck swooshes.

The interiors were then sanitised and cleaned (including the soft padded collars, side panelling, insoles and toe boxes), then the laces and tongues followed the same procedure.

Finally (but certainly not least), the nubuck overlays featured on the side panel swooshes and towards the heel areas of the shoes, were also looking tired and showing signs of age too, so also restored these.

After repairing any frayed areas on the nubuck material, the suede areas of the shoe were deep cleaned, conditioned from the inside out and then sealed and weatherproofed with special Sole Man treatments.

Nubuck fabric has a tendency to dry out and consequently age, fray and generally deteriorate if not treated over time. The nubuck can look tired and weathering accelerates this process when getting wet, causing discolouration as it dries out.

This can leave nubuck areas on your kicks not only looking tired and dusty, but also feeling course or brittle to touch, so I made sure they not only looked good on the eye… but felt great in the hand too.

That’s why the nubuck areas of both shoes were freshened and cleaned, before conditioning the fabric from the inside-out. As you can see in the photos and video, the swooshes have come back really nice, as have the heel areas too, so am really happy with the results.

Although the AF1 launched in 1982 as a basketball must-have, this ’23 drop is most certainly hot to trot and ready to hit the road again in 2025!

To finish, this pair were much in need of a deep clean when they were dropped off, so that’s what they got, with a premium finish to protect them when out and about.

After getting the shoes looking box fresh, wrapped and ready to go home, i’m pleased to say that both my customer and myself were delighted with the results!
